GT's second leading wicket-taker of the season, Sai Kishore, discusses the influence of his coach, Ashish Nehra, both on and off the field.
Sai Kishore commended Ashish Nehra for his role in his personal development as a player and his impact on team culture.
"When Ashish Nehra is around, no one can afford to be complacent. After our last game against the Mumbai Indians, he pointed out that we didn’t play well and need to improve in specific areas. There is no room for complacency because he’ll always let you know when something isn’t right.
He keeps things simple, straightforward, and to the point. He’s always there to appreciate us, but he will also step in if we start to stray off course. This way, everyone remains aligned with the team’s objectives," Kishore added.

A Smart Cricketer”: Kishore on Shubman Gill’s Impact as Captain
Kishore also praised his captain, Shubman Gill, for his excellent leadership on the field and how beneficial he has been for the team this season.
"Shubman has always been a very good reader of the game. When he bats, he understands the match situation well. He’s not just a talented player; he’s a very smart cricketer. He has helped me a lot as a spinner. Sometimes, you need those insights from the captain or a senior player. I trust my instincts, and having Shubman’s game-reading backing me up really helps," Kishore shared with JioHotstar.
Sai Kishore has been performing exceptionally well this season, carrying his fantastic domestic form into the league. He has picked up 14 wickets in 11 matches and is currently trailing behind Prasidh Krishna in the wickets column. The Gujarat Titans are having a fantastic season, winning 8 out of their 11 games.
