Sai Sudharshan Gujarat Titans

Sai Sudharsan’s brilliant 82-run knock and key contributions from Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia helped Gujarat Titans post 217 runs for 6 wickets.

Shahrukh Khan joined his partner Sai Sudharsan in the middle, and the pair from Tamil Nadu carried the momentum from ball one. Shahrukh began his innings with two boundaries, followed by a six over extra cover against Tushar Deshpande. Sanju Samson continued his attack against Maheesh Theekshana, but it turned out to be a costly over as he conceded 16 runs in his third over. At the end of 14 overs, the Gujarat Titans were cruising towards 200 runs, sitting at 140 runs for 2 wickets, with Sai Sudharsan on (60 runs off 40 balls) and Shahrukh Khan on (33 runs off 16 balls) not out.

Sandeep Sharma Delivered with the Ball

Sandeep Sharma was brought back by the skipper to calm things down, and he did exactly as his captain wished, conceding only 5 runs in his over with no boundaries. However, the Tamil Nadu duo added 50 runs for the fourth wicket during that over.

Sanju Samson continued with Maheesh Theekshana, but he was leaking runs left and right, but with just two balls to go, Theekshana managed to dismiss Shahrukh Khan, who was stumped by the wicketkeeper after missing the ball completely while dancing down the track. Next came Sherfane Rutherford, who smashed a huge six to get off the mark immediately, as Theekshana completed his spell with figures of 2 wickets for 54 runs.

Sai Sudharshan timely acceleration

Sandeep Sharma kept up his good bowling and dismissed the big-hitting Sherfane Rutherford, a well-deserved wicket for him. Rahul Tewatia then joined Sai Sudharsan in the middle. Sandeep’s good spell ended when Sai Sudharsan struck a six and a four off consecutive deliveries in his over, maintaining the momentum as Gujarat Titans reached 176 runs for 4 wickets in 17 overs.

Jofra Archer returned for his final over, and it began with a fortunate six for Rahul Tewatia, who got an edge on a full toss that cleared the fence. Despite that, Jofra maintained tight lines, leading to a catch opportunity that Shubham Dubey, the impact sub, unfortunately dropped from Sai Sudharsan.

GT Finishes off Strong

Tushar Deshpande came back for his final over and achieved great success by dismissing Sai Sudharsan, who edged the ball and was caught by Samson. It was a fantastic knock from Sai, as he left the field after scoring 82 runs off 53 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes.

Rashid Khan came next and quickly took on Tushar Deshpande with a 4 and a 6. However, Deshpande had the last laugh, dismissing him for 12 runs off 4 balls. At this stage, the Gujarat Titans had surpassed 200 runs, reaching 201 runs for 6 wickets with one over to go.

Sandeep Sharma continued to bowl, and Rahul Tewatia started the over with a boundary, followed by another six just a ball later. Despite a tight yorker from Sandeep, Tewatia managed to score 16 runs in that over, finishing the innings at 217 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
