Robin Uthappa posed some intriguing questions for the Chennai Super Kings camp ahead of their clash with the Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk.

Chennai Super Kings had a rocky start to the tournament, losing four consecutive matches after beginning the competition with a win against the Mumbai Indians. Now, following MS Dhoni's appointment, Robin Uthappa, who was part of the commentary panel during the RCB vs. DC match, shared his thoughts and posed some questions regarding the captaincy change.
Uthappa emphasized that simply having MS Dhoni as captain wouldn't automatically improve the team's results, highlighting the gaps in the squad. He questioned how the Super Kings would compensate for the absence of in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad for the rest of the season.
“I don’t think him being captain is going to automatically turn the tide for CSK. There are a lot of gaps in that side, right? How do you fix that? How do you cover for a solid batter like Rutu, who seems like the only one finding some form?" Uthappa stated while speaking to the broadcaster.
He also expressed concerns about the forms of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, particularly noting Ravindra's inconsistency at the top of the batting order.
"We have Devon Conway, who showed some form in the previous game against Punjab — he scored 69* before getting retired out. Rachin has been a little patchy since the IPL began," Uthappa added.
