Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) will bump heads with Quetta Gladiators (QG) in the second match of the Pakistan Super League 2025 (PSL 2025) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 12.

Peshawar Zalmi lost to Islamabad United in the Eliminator 2 of the PSL 2024, while Quetta Gladiators also met a similar fate, losing to Islamabad in Eliminator 1.

This year, Babar Azam, Zalmi’s captain, will aim to lead from the front, backed by the explosive Saim Ayub and big-hitter Mohammad Haris. Alzarri Joseph, Luke Wood and Nahid Rana will take care of the pace unit.

Babar’s fitness came under the scanner on Wednesday when he was seen limping off the ground after getting injured in a practice session. However, it is likely a sprain. Babar will play Peshawar’s campaign-opener.

Quetta Gladiators, led by young Saud Shakeel, are geared up. Rilee Russouw, Kusal Mendis, Finn Allen and Shoaib Malik are their key batters. They have plenty of bowling options too in Mohammad Amir, Akeal Hosein, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Abrar Ahmed and Kyle Jamieson.
