The Indian team lost the third Test at Lord's on July 14. The final day saw some entertaining cricket being played and finally India falling short by just 22 runs.

India were asked to chase 193 runs by England. The Men in Blue lost four wickets for 54 runs overnight and needed 135 more runs to win on the final day with six wickets remaining. However, they were bowled out for 170 runs in the end, falling short by 22 runs.

Despite the best efforts of Ravindra Jadeja who was unbeaten on 61 runs off 181 balls, England managed to dismiss Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj and snatched the victory from India. Both Bumrah and Siraj showed great defiance playing 84 deliveries between themselves but England had the last laugh.

Shubman Gill On Meeting King Charles

Meanwhile, after the defeat at Lord's, the Indian team met King Charles at Clarence House in London on Tuesday, July 14. Rajasthan Royals owner Manoj Badale introduced the Indian players to King Charles III. Indian skipper Shubman Gill also spoke about the team meeting the great man.

"It was amazing to meet King Charles III and he was very kind and generous to call us. We had some really good conversations. King Charles III told us that the way our last batsman got out in the previous test match was quite unfortunate, the ball rolling on the stumps...We told him that it was an unfortunate match for us and could have gone either ways. Hopefully, we will have better luck in both the next games," Gill said at the meeting.

The loss at Lord's is definitely going to hurt India as they had their opportunity to win the game. Jadeja added key stands of 30, 35 and 23 with Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, respectively, to take India close. The Indian team were unfortunate to have a few key decisions turned down when they were bowling and a few decisions going against them when they batted.
